Kate Fitz and the ROmantics

Protesting Today's Regime

In political terminology, an "October Surprise" is a news event deliberately timed to shape the outcome of an election. This October, singer/songwriter, trumpeter, and multi-instrumentalist Kate Fitz reclaims the phrase, delivering a 7 track EP that serves as a musical rallying cry for solidarity and resilience against fascism.

October Surprise combines raw, kinetic energy with uncompromising lyricism. Featuring both heartfelt vocal melodies and hard hitting grooves, the EP explores the emotional and collective weight of standing up against oppressive systems. October Surprise is an invitation to find strength in community, transform frustration into action, and refuse to sit quietly on the sidelines.

Kate Fitz is a Utah Valley based vocalist, trumpet player, pianist, and songwriter known for her rich blend of soul, pop, R&B, jazz, and sometimes rock. From commanding brass lines to effortlessly expressive vocals, Fitz brings a distinct sonic depth and live energy to every project she touches.

Whether playing local stages, collaborating on studio records, or crafting immersive original projects, her music is driven by sharp storytelling, complex harmony, and a passion for human connection. Her upcoming 7 song EP, October Surprise (releasing October 17th, 2026), marks her most direct statement yet: an aim to confront sociopolitical tension with defiance, solidarity, and hope.
